Providing teaching and support to create safer communities, prosperity and of course war …

The question of human development of technology has been the subject of concern and suspicion throughout the history of mankind. From the early development of rudimentary tools to making hunting more effective, then became a tool of war and and protection between tribes. I am certain the same concerns were expressed all those millennia ago, although the interconnectivity of communities did not allow discourse.

Bringing things forward along way, the industrial revolution raised very similar questions of what the impact would be on mankind and communities, we now know that it created prosperity and also was instrumental in the development of the war situation with increasingly sophisticated weaponry and the development of the atom bomb. As the world population grew, these developments caused loss of lives and communities, whilst determining the power bases in terms of world powers.

Ai is the latest development and this is perhaps the most pervasive form of human creation. Like all developments, the potential for good, learning and supporting creation of safer communities is the initial application. Yet as we have seen, certain powers use the technology as a weapon to assert dominance and control, causing extreme conditions for those people whose lives are reliant on technology. Yet as the technology embeds into the governments across the globe we see a stabilisation and agreements on its use and parameters. Just the same as we have seen throughout the industrial revolution.

We know that any development will be used by men as a weapon wherever that potential exists. The realities in a globally connected world is to manage this huge power in such a way that the threat exists, but the good of communities and wealth creation is more important…
