Elizabeth Bennet… 100 per cent

Daily writing prompt
Who is the fictional character you relate to the most?

Ironic and observational humour. This female character who I first read about in my teenage years. This character embodies the place of women in English society and the very real differences in both gender and class that has existed for hundreds of years. Here position in society, both as a woman and in terms of her class and social connections. As a young woman I identified with her and her ability to observe and critically analyse with humour and honesty a society that was at the time concerned greatly by the French Revolution spreading to England. The difficulties of the miiltiias behaviours and how marriage was considered the only way for keeping women in society safe. This character who against the odds overcame the prejudices that class held in England, arguably still does. For me she is the epitome of the importance of not just education, but character and strong male role models…
