Mine… Metoo!

When I first developed my site those years ago. It was a project, a university assessment. How could I then have known how this was going to grow slowly to people accessing it from every continent on the planet. The excitement the first time I received the ping, informing me that someone had read the opening post in South America. Was it possible? Could my mention of the fateful words Metoo, exploring the impact of gender based violence on society and families.

This exploration soon began to develop into a female narrative on the importance of environment for safety of women and children. This gender view is one that is difficult for many societies to accept. The freedom of speech is firstly the most important aspect of the blog itself. Without this it would be impossible to write and publish the works themselves. So far the only countries that are unable to access the blog are China and Russia, however I hope this too is going to change.

There are issues with the availability of the accompanying podcast, this is going to take time !! However it is joy to visit my site daily, blog, have a discourse with people I meet about these subjects, how to create safer environments for women and children, which are then statistically safer environments for all. With the current situation in the world at this time, we see that conflict between those more patriarchal systems and matriarchal. Yet one thing remains true from the time I started this blog to the very moments I am writing this. Freedom of speech, rule of law and equality and equity are the basis for all people to be as safe as possible, no matter the politics or religions. When these break down, or do not exist, countries become exponentially unsafe for women and children, who are, most often the innocent victims in war zones or societies that do not have the basics of functioning democracy in place! Be that the use of rape, child rape or horrific human rights abuses, my writing and studying is a testament to my personal views and experiences as a child and woman raised in England. Visiting my website it the best feeling in the whole world for me…. As the name suggests, being a survivor writing is a feeling I cannot describe. No matter the personal struggles and professional challenges of writing it is without a doubt my favourite website to visit ….
